Relax and Rejuvenate Your Body

Reflexology is a natural and non-invasive therapy that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and stimulates the body’s natural healing processes. It is based on the principle that different points on the feet, hands, and ears correspond to different organs and systems in the body.

At Perth Corporate Massage, we offer reflexology sessions designed to help you feel your best. Our trained and experienced therapists use gentle pressure and massage techniques to stimulate reflex points and promote balance and harmony throughout your body.

How it works

During a session, you will lie down comfortably and your therapist will work on specific reflex points on your feet, hands, or ears. You might feel some discomfort or sensitivity in these areas, but this is normal and indicates that the corresponding organs or systems are being stimulated.

The pressure and techniques used are gentle and non-invasive, so you can relax and enjoy the experience. Many people find reflexology to be deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, and it can be a great way to unwind after a long day or week.

Recommended massage time is 10-15 minutes per person, but can be shorter on request.

Is there any science behind this alternative treatment?

While there is some scientific research on reflexology, it is important to note that the effects of reflexology are not yet fully understood or accepted by the medical community. Some studies have suggested that reflexology may have a positive effect on various health conditions, but more research is needed to confirm these findings and understand the underlying mechanisms of action.

For example, a 2015 systematic review of 17 randomized controlled trials found that reflexology may have a positive effect on pain, anxiety, and depression in patients with various health conditions, such as cancer, fibromyalgia, and diabetes. However, the review also noted that the quality of the studies was generally low and that more high-quality research is needed to draw firm conclusions.

Another study published in the Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2019 found that reflexology was effective in reducing pain and anxiety in patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. The study also found that reflexology had a positive effect on patients’ satisfaction with their pain management.

Overall, while there is some evidence to support the use of reflexology for various health conditions, more high-quality research is needed to fully understand its effects and mechanisms of action.

As with any complementary therapy, it is a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before trying a new style of treatment.
